CPOA will expand your college search, and therefore your options for college selection, by presenting your academic and extra-curricular information to hundreds of schools. Start with a wide net, then work the list down to a manageable number.
CPOA will send a professionally prepared profile to Admission’s Offices. You will receive information from these schools so you can do proper research and make smart comparisons.
You will know at the end of the process that you have been fully in charge of the college selection process and put yourself in a position to have made the very best choice.
Realistically, the short answer is, probably, yes. The standard for eligibility for need-based aid is very low. Combined household income of more than $40,000 annually will generally make a student ineligible for a Pell Grant. But need-based aid is only one part of the financial aid package. We can help you pursue financial aid NOT BASED ON NEED! In fact, that is CPOA’s PRIMARY FOCUS.
Yes, Yes, Yes! The majority of colleges and universities in the United States offer Scholarships and Grants not based on your family’s income. The amount varies among institutions but usually the schools that cost the most have the most aid to give.
Of course! Are you up for it? Just by being considered a potential CPOA client, you meet the criteria set for top scholars and those students who are in demand. CPOA will help you identify these schools and will ensure that you understand how to pursue all financial aid opportunities. The advantage of CPOA is you are assured that the right schools will know about YOU. They may never discover other students.
Schools and other entities ultimately make that decision, but unless you are in the mix at plenty of schools, schools that need to know about you, you will never know. And even if your grades will not be high enough at one school, that doesn’t mean it is necessarily true at others.
Maybe, but the sheer volume of information is overwhelming. Does your school have an excellent track record of graduates attending top colleges? Is your Counselor’s main responsibility to work with college-bound students or is he or she charged with other responsibilities at school not relating to college counseling? These are good questions to ask.
No and Yes. Unfortunately there are some companies that charge for scholarship searches or base their fee on a percentage of the scholarship aid that a student receives. Not CPOA. We have a very good Better Business Bureau rating and we have been in business since 1986. Our reputation is based on providing excellent customer service. Since our program is not offered to the “masses”, we can give our customers extra attention and provide services that are actually beneficial.
We want to help clients accomplish at least three goals:

  • Provide the information and tools that will enable the parents and the student to be confident about the choice they make because they have been in charge of the entire process.
  • Present the student through the Academic Profile in such a positive manner to the Director of Admissions that the schools that actively compete for top students will show interest and develop a win-win relationship between the family and the school.

Foster strong connections between students and colleges/universities that will eventually lead to acceptance through the admissions process and the best possible financial aid opportunities.
